15th INTERNATIONAL ROAD SAFETY ON FOUR CONTINENTS CONFERENCE



Held under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the United Arab Emirates represented by the National Transport Authority and its strategic partners, will host the Road Safety on Four Continents Conference between 28–30 March 2010 in its 15th edition, and as such will become the first Middle East and Arab country to host this extremely important conference. Initiative Underscores Commitment to Environmental Shipping




ABU DHABI—Dec 31st 2009  H.E. Dr. Nasser Saif Al Mansoori, the Director General of the National Maritime Authority, announced today the NTA for the Government of U.A.E. will host an environmental shipping summit on March 2nd  2010 followed by a workshop on March 3rd 2010.  The topic of the summit is “Environmental Vigilance:  Taking the lead in environmental protection”.  The summit will take place at the Park Rotana Hotel Abu Dhabi. Rail Infrastructure Planning and Development in the GCC region

The NTA chaired an International Conference on Railway Infrastructure in the Gulf Region.  The Conference was held in Dubai on the 17 &18th January 2010 and was attended by Rail Authorities from the UAE, GCC countries, Arab Countries, Europe and America.

The Conference was chaired by the National Transport Authority (NTA).  Prior to the conference, HE Eng. Abdulla AL Katheeri, Executive Director of Land Transport Sector stated that “as we start the new year of 2010, the Conference is a welcome event to encourage exchange of views on the emerging Railway Industry in the UAE and the Region. The NTA is keen to learn lessons from International Railway Industry best practices.  The NTA is in the lead in fostering collaborative working relationships with other railway international bodies and bringing best railway ideas and expertise to our Country”.
